Seven Mile Beach was named as one of the top 25 Best Beaches in the world in Trip Advisor’s “Best of the Best 2024 Travelers’ Choice Awards.”

Starfish Point was also named as one of the best beaches in the Caribbean.

Here are some of our favorite beaches on Grand Cayman Island.

Rum Point Beach

Located on the picturesque district of North Side, “Rum Point” is famous for its island atmosphere, white sandy beach and shallow waters. It is an ideal spot for swimming and snorkelling. The beach hammocks, shady trees, picnic tables and delicious food beckon visitors and locals alike seven days a week

Starfish Beach

Situated on the north side of Grand Cayman, Starfish Point is paradise personified. Speckled with starfish this beautiful stretch of beach is breathtakingly beautiful and perfect for snorkelling as it is surrounded by crystal clear water on all sides.

Cayman Kai

Visitors traveling to the Caribbean have long sought the privacy of Cayman Kai. Cayman Kai’s seclusion on the northern tip of Grand Cayman is all one can ask for in island life. It’s among the most beautiful Caribbean beaches, offering swimming and snorkeling, and playing host to several other water sports that you and your family can enjoy.

Smith Barcadere

Also known as Smith Cove, Smith Barcadere in the South Sound of Grand Cayman is terrific for photos ops and phenomenal for snorkelling – all with the convenience of public restrooms, picnic benches and outdoor showers. Turquoise waters surround the white sand, while limestone formations and coral reefs protect this site.

Governor’s Beach at Seven Mile Beach

Governor’s Beach is a relaxing spot within Seven Mile Beach, located beside and in front of the Governor’s home. Governor’s Beach is excellent for snorkelling, a picturesque stroll or floating on the water with a cold drink. And you’ll witness the most memorable sunsets.

East End Beach

East End Public Beach is tucked away on Grand Cayman and is ideal for a romantic afternoon or spectacular sunrise.  The area is teeming with turtle grass and you can see baby fish swimming around, out of reach of predators.

Spotts Beach

Off Shamrock Road in the Spotts Newlands part of Grand Cayman is where you’ll happen upon Spotts Beach.  Spotts Beach encompasses iron-shore cliffs and white sand, while still providing plenty of space for a surfside walk. It’s a nice place to watch the sunrise since Spotts Beach faces. There are cabanas along with some benches and tables available for barbecues or picnics.

West Bay Cemetery Beach

At the north end of Seven Mile Beach on Grand Cayman, West Bay Beach is perfect for sun catching and people watching. Complete with restrooms and changing facilities, West Bay Beach is close to several eateries as well. With an easily accessible boat ramp, the pier at this location is where many sightseers and residents came to watch the sinking of the Ex-USS Kittiwake in 2011.

Colliers Public Beach

Colliers Beach is large and relatively flat on the eastern tip of the island.  It beckons visitors with simple amenities, including a dock, basic wooden cabanas and picnic areas for leisure. On the periphery there are several trees providing shade. There are ample parking spaces, and the site has bathrooms.
